Training Division

The Training Division provides for the training of all the various disciplines and skills which are required for the success of a modern fire department. The Training Division delivers the training and continuing education in Emergency Medical Services necessary for the Department to maintain its' status as a First Responder Organization. Over 4300 man hours were spent training in the year of 2016. Training classes and exercises were conducted topics such as: vehicle extrication, technical rescue techniques, boat operations, hazardous material recognition and mitigation, and a broad range of other areas.

The department has twenty eight instructors certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, one certified Training Coordinator, and a TCFP approved classroom. The department has hosted TCFP Certification classes for Hazardous-Materials Technician, Instructor I and II, Fire Investigator and will be holding more certification classes in the future.

The Fire Department also offers CPR classes to the public through the Training Division and other fire and accident prevention education through the Prevention Division.
